Exercise, Fitness

Done! (again!)

As of last week, I finished the 2 month program of Hammer and Chisel!

YAY!

And I’m going to to totally honest: I can’t SEE much of a difference. I know that there is a huge difference in my strength, because I kept bumping up my weights, but I was hoping to see a little more definition, and it just didn’t really happen. I really thought that with my diet of such limited sugar, that I would be able to see results. I didn’t follow the eating plan, but I am already able to control my portions. My plan is to keep doing the program while adding in running, and I think definition will come in time. Thankfully, I’m patient when it comes to fitness.

The only con of the program out of the way, I can say I LOVE this program. I loved how different the two trainers are, and how different their workouts are, and just the variety of every workout. When I did P90, I was so burnt out on doing the same workouts for so long.  It probably compounded the problem when I did the program again. PiYo has pretty good variety, but I’ve done it a couple of times now, so it was awesome to get so much more variety with Hammer and Chisel.

Strength training is probably one of my favorite parts of being an athlete. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it in college. And the benefits of lifting and building muscle are so worth it!  When you lift weights, your body works harder to maintain muscle over fat.  Meaning, strength training can boost your metabolism so you burn more calories throughout the day. Who can say no to that? Not to mention, weight lifting boosts your endorphins! No wonder I like weight lifting so much!

Now, I know I said I was going to post before and after pictures, but honestly, there’s not much change at all.  I’m going to save my transformation for when it’ll be a little more dramatic.

How about you all out there?  Do you lift (bro)?
